This past May, I went on four trips while exploring Australia with my Lo & Sons Catalina Deluxe weekender in tow. Taking this bag on the three-week trip was the perfect size for these four mini trips I went on while traveling through Australia. From a weekend in Melbourne to the Great Ocean Road, then to the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast and onto the city of Sydney, there were a wide variety of destinations.

Great Ocean Road

I headed out for a road trip up the GOR as it's one of the most iconic driving routes in Australia. I had the 12 Apostles on my bucket list for years and I was smitten to spend time photographing the coast and seeing the local wildlife like koalas and parrots. I spent two nights in Apollo Bay and Port Campbell to base myself to see the sights like the 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, and the Otways.

Melbourne

Melbourne is one of my favorite cities as really close friends live here, so I headed there to spend time exploring the city with one of my best friends. The city is filled with so many incredible coffee shops, especially in the neighborhood of Fitzroy. One new place I tried was the world-famous croissants at Lune — definitely worth the wait in line!

Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast is another special place as I have my sister-in-law and her husband living there. I headed there to explore the coast and go into the mountains, to the town of Montville. My husband and I spent a night there at the Spicers Clovelly Estate which has incredible views over the lush forests.

Sydney

The last time I was in Australia, I wasn't able to make it to Sydney, so this time I made it a priority. The bustling city was one of my favorite places I've visited. I explored the neighborhoods of Bondi and Surry Hills primarily. The Bondi Icebergs Pool is a must see as the pool brushes up with the ocean, and is filled each time the waves crash in. Around the corner is Porch and Parlour, which is an incredible breakfast or lunch spot as well!
