"I have had this bag for about 8 years, and it is my tried-and-true FAVORITE bag. It's plenty big for a weekend + a little more. You can load it up pretty well and still get is zipped shut thanks to the forgiving material. I love the removable insert - I can pack smaller items like socks, undergarments, etc and just pull it out and it's all nicely organized. I also love that it's 100% cotton which means it's sturdy but easy to clean."

Very nice, but not very big

"The quality is excellent and this bag looks great. I'll probably only be able to use it for warm weather weekends away as it isn't very large (only a few pieces of bulkier winter clothes will fit, but its fine for a few lightweight, summer outfits). The nylon fabric appears durable and I like the shoe compartment in the bottom (althought its only big enough for one pair of shoes and some flip flops or slippers)."

Ended up not being what I was looking for

"I bought this to be my carry-on bag for airplane travel, but unfortunately this bag doesn't have the form and function I'm looking for. It would help if there was a laptop sleeve inside the bag. Unfortunately, it's difficult to keep all my belongings organized without enough internal pockets. It holds a lot, but it's sort of an abyss of a bag."

On Aircraft flights will it fit as a personal carryon, fitting under the seat?: Catalina Deluxe qualifies as a carry-on size, but not as a “personal item”. Will fit in an overhead compartment, but unless partially packed will not fit underneath an airplane seat.
Does this comply with the airlines for personal item?: Catalina Deluxe is carry-on size but does not qualify as a "personal item". For most major airlines, both sizes fit in the overhead bin. But the small size can sometimes fit under the seat if partially packed.
What is the gray inset for?: The insert acts as a padding and structure for the bottom compartment.
What is the capacity of small and large bag?: Hello Nick, it's 40L for small and 49L for large.

Does the large Catalina Deluxe fit under an airline seat?: Great question! The Catalina Deluxe Large may only fit under an airline seat if it's partially packed. While it fits perfectly in an overhead compartment, it might be a bit too large to fit entirely under the seat. Alternatively, we recommend the Catalina Deluxe Tote, which is specifically designed to fit underneath the airline seat.

I just received my bag and love it. It came with a velcro piece that seems like some sort of divider but I can't seem to find anywhere on the website that says what this should be used for. Thanks!: Hi Caitlyn. It sounds like you've received our flat packed Catalina Deluxe where the bottom tray arrives folded and will need to be assembled. So, the bottom tray that comes with velcro pieces and is foldable is a new version of the bottom tray that we are very slowly incorporating into our Catalina Deluxe bags. If you have a foldable bottom tray what you'd need to do is first assemble it. To start, lay the tray flat and you will see the velcro on the corners of the tray. From there, you can attach the velcro pieces forming a rectangle that can be place directly into the bottom compartment. Hope this helps!

For domestic USA orders, we accept returns for any unused products within 30 days upon receiving your order. A $10 return shipping and processing fee will be deducted from your refund. Returned products must have their original packaging, uncut hang tag with barcode, not show any signs of use, wear and tear, marks/scratches, alterations, or any kind of damage.
