An African Safari Featuring Lindsay Brown

Professional photographer, Lindsay Brown, takes us abroad on a safari adventure in Botswana, South Africa.

Going on Safari is an incredible and humbling experience. Lindsay traveled to Botswana where she was surrounded by dusty plains and wild animals.

It was remarkable to experience such wildlife that as a child I only saw in captivity. It was humbling to familiarize ourselves with a different culture, gain a deeper and more personal understanding of the importance of animal conservation in Africa. The entire experience was unlike anything I had ever been a part of before.

Packing for a Safari can be challenging and makes you re-consider what is truly essential and important.

Aside from my duffle, I brought the Claremont. Knowing I wouldn’t need much, it allowed just enough room for the essentials: my camera and 24-70 mm lens, sunscreen, sunglasses, my iPhone, bug spray, and a small snack to have with me during our five hour safari drives. It was manageable, easy, and most importantly, unassuming - just the kind of thing you want when you have a pack of lions surrounding your open-air van.
